I think its only right to note that I drew upon "The Skillful Huntsman" as inspiration for this approach to developing my design skills. The plan is to format it something similar to what Scott Robertson guided his students at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, Khang Le, Mike Yamada, and Felix Yoon to do in their "The Skillful Huntsman. This book is personally what I would call the epitome of entertainment design in print (as is The Skillful Huntsman). This is an ongoing side project by the designers and their website should update as they create more. I'm guessing this was first painted as a black silhouette first and by alternating between 100% hard brush and eraser to carve out the shapes. Being not much of a reader,this book was such an entertaining and informative read, that I couldn't let this book go. This has got to be the best concept art book out there! I would recommend picking up The Five C's of Cinemetography to learn about storytelling and composition, and The Skillful Huntsman to get your design gears turning. It also looks very much like a school project for art students. REVIEW : THE SKILLFUL HUNTSMAN.
